Spring in Vermont
It's March 19th and there's snow on the ground, but the sun is beaming. The winter wonderland outside calls for outdoor retreating. It also makes us start thinking about our wedding and portrait planning for the upcoming months. Before you know it, it'll be Summer and we'll be in full swing in wedding and portrait season in Southern Vermont. Planning doesn't need to be overwhelming. As a wedding and portrait photographer, we have learned the finesse of timing and planning.
First, managing your start time for your wedding is probably the most crucial piece to nail down. How many bridesmaids are getting their hair and make-up done? Are you doing a first look? Are you hoping to have all your family formals completed before the ceremony? These are all great questions to really think about and decide what best suits your needs. Second, I always tell clients you can add time at the end of the night, but you can't in the beginning if you start too late. Remember that! Lastly, don't be shy....ask your photographer about timing and giving yourself a nice buffer to work with so you don't feel stressed or rushed.
Get a feel for your timeline now so you can focus on other aspects of your big day. Coordinating multiple vendors can be daunting, but there's always help. Don't be afraid to ask for help! If you've stumbled onto my site and enjoy the images you see, please reach out and allow me the opportunity to be part of your celebration.
Manchester, VT Wedding Photographer
I am fortunate to live in Manchester, Vermont where I have access to the beautiful Green Mountains and Batten Kill River all year round. Living outside is part of life here. Whether you bike, hike, run, ski, snowshoe, or just take a leisure drive around town, you will see why so many people call this town home. I have made a pack to myself to try new activities as much as possible and there's no shortage of challenging endeavors to pursue. I've recently tried skinning up Bromley Mountain and it was exhilarating. Manchester pushes adventure in all who visit. It has stolen my heart!
Another reason I chose to move to Southern Vermont was because of my work. I have been photographing beautiful weddings in Vermont for decades now and Manchester is a gem for couples looking for a quintessential, Vermont barn wedding bursting with charm. The old beams, pastoral views, and tight-knit community set this town apart from others. I am so grateful to my clients who enrich my life and allow for me to fully express my creativity on their big day. Trust is key! Once that trust is established, it allows for those candid moments to flow. Suddenly, I'm not photographing a wedding but rather part of something bigger. Floating around documenting pure love and happiness is a gift. What could be better?
welcome
Welcome to Jennifer Mardus Photography!
Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy looking through the galleries. I am a portrait and wedding photographer who is based in Southern Vermont but is happy to travel. I grew up in Williamstown, MA and have always loved this area. Once I realized that photography was my path, I couldn't of asked for a better palette.
